While Europe continues to stagger from the current financial and economic crisis, a new generation of business students is looking ahead with optimism. This is one of the outcomes from an international survey conducted by ESCP Conseil and commissioned by Politiques énergétiques to expose what future business leaders think about the energy mix of tomorrow.
Two thirds of the respondents believe in the successful implementation of a post-fossil energy model in the medium and long term. The survey was conducted in two stages:
Almost 1000 students at ESCP Business School in France, England, Germany and Italy answered the questionnaire.
In a follow-up discussion, six focus groups were set in Paris, Berlin and London. Participants discussed energy policy with selected crowds of aspiring managers including current MSc in Energy Management (MEM) students.
What emerges from this exercise is a glimpse into the minds of Europe’s future decision-makers, as they dealt with issues faced by politicians, energy companies and Europe’s citizens alike.
