The Francesco Paris Award was announced during the 51st Meeting of the Euro Working Group on Commodities and Financial Modelling (EWGCFM) and 1st Conference of the Energy Management Centre (EMC) & the International Centre for Shipping, Trade and Finance (ICSTF). The event took place on 16th - 18th May, 2013 at the ESCP London campus.
The Francesco Paris Award granted € 500 to the best paper contribution by a young scholar (PhD student or young researcher) during the Gala Dinner on the 17th May. The recipient was Ingmar Ritzenhofen from WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management. The Award was given by Rita D'Ecclesia, Chair of the EWGCFM, Sapienza University of Rome.
The Francesco Paris Award keeps alive the memory of Francesco Paris, and honours his contribution to research in Financial Modelling and very active presence in the EWGCFM. The first award was presented at the 46th EWGCFM meeting held in Istanbul on May 2010. It was funded by the Quantitative Methods Department, University of Brescia (Italy), where Francesco Paris spent his academic life.
