The Energy Management Centre (EMC) at ESCP Business School participated in the 4th National Conference of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS). The conference took place on 20th and 21st December, 2013 at the hotel InterContinental, in Athens, Greece. It was organised by the Technical University of Crete and the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus.
The event provided an excellent platform for researchers and practitioners to hear the latest research, share some key insights and discuss a wide range of topics related to financial engineering and banking.
The meeting brought together 110 participants from Greece. 42 papers were presented by representatives from the most prestigious business and academic institutions, contributing to a highly stimulating and thought-provoking event.
Dr. Kostas Andriosopoulos, Executive Director of the Energy Management Centre at ESCP Business School, UK, Michael Doumpos, Associate Professor; Co-Director of Research, Financial Engineering Laboratory , Technical University of Crete, Greece and Emilios Galariotis, Professor; Director, Centre for Financial and Risk Management , Audencia Nantes, School of Management, France welcomed participants and delivered the opening remarks.
Professor Stavros B. Thomadakis received the national honorary award for his outstanding achievements in the field of finance from the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS).
Stavros B. Thomadakis is Emeritus Professor of financial economics at the University of Athens. A graduate of Yale University and the Sloan School of Management, M.I.T, he has held professorships at U.S. Universities.
Selected papers from the Conference will be published after review in a special issue arranged in the International Journal of Financial Engineering and Risk Management (IJFERM).
