Join us for a unique opportunity to learn about and visit Europe's largest renewable energy system at the Jean Nouvel-designed One New Change building, inaugurated in 2011 by MP Gregory Barker, Minister of State for Climate Change. Underneath the City's prime leisure and shopping centre, 60km of pipework - enough to wrap around the London Eye 140 times - both warm and cool the building in the most environmentally friendly way by transferring heat efficiently to and from the ground itself.
One New Change covers 550,000 sq ft over eight floors, with 60 shops and restaurants operating over 220,000 sq ft. The state-of-the-art £4m sustainable energy system is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by at least 10% and could save £300,000 on energy bills a year.
The presentation will start at 6.15pm, followed by a tour of the plant rooms with the Head of Engineering and Sustainability from Land Securities. We will finish the evening with networking drinks and nibbles at Gordon Ramsey's Bread Street Kitchen (food is included in the price; however each will pay for their own drinks).
