ESCP Business School and its Energy Management Centre (EMC) are delighted to announce that our seventh cohort of MSc in Energy Management students recently nominated the board members of the School’s Energy Society.
Board members offer leadership for carrying out the society’s initiatives and engage ESCP students from all campus in industry-related events, maximise networking opportunities and help them develop professional skills through a range of activities:
- Panel discussions and debates led by leading experts
- Promotion of energy-related initiatives and the latest developments in the industry
- Share industry-related articles and publications through social media to promote constructive discussion among its participants

Energy Journal

Overview: The Energy Journal is a biannual publication focused on current energy affairs. It is a collaboration between The London School of Economics, University College London, ESCP Business School, and Imperial College, making it the largest student-for-student energy magazine in print.
PET Recycling Project
When: Last week of November
Project Leader: Linda Livingstone
Overview: We are all responsible for building a greener future. The Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is a highly recyclable plastic resin and a form of polyester. It is prized for its strength, thermo-stability, and transparency. PET is gradually becoming a popular choice for packaging as it is inexpensive, lightweight, resealable, shatter-resistant, and recyclable.
This project aims to raise awareness about the benefits of recycling PET bottles by engaging multiple stakeholders and running a pilot programme at ESCP London Campus.
2020
ESCP Energy Trading Challenge
When: 28 & 29 February
Project Leader: Nicolas Chedéville
Overview: This competitive event will bring together the best students from the top business schools and universities around the world. The event consists of two days of professionally-crafted trading scenarios representing two full months in the Energy industry.

Wind Farm Visit
When: February
Project Leader: Cristina Villaveces
Overview: The UK is already very successful at using sustainable energy. A new UK renewables record was set in the third quarter of this year after its share of the electricity mix rose to 40%. It is the first time that electricity from British wind farms, solar panels and biomass plants has surpassed fossil fuels since the UK’s first power plant fired up in 1882.
Our MSc in Energy Management students will visit a wind farm in February 2020. The visit will help them to gain a deep understanding of the wind energy business and its technological concepts. More details will be announced soon. Stay tuned!

Overview: Our ambitious students are determined to make a real impact on the industry. Next year, the ESCP Energy Society will invite top energy professionals to discuss the latest developments and opportunities available in this fascinating but also dynamic industry.
Community Development Project

Overview: This project aims to provide renewable energy access to a developing community with the help of an NGO. More details to be announced soon. Stay tuned!
Youth Gas Forum

The Youth Day is a great opportunity for top students interested in a career in the gas or energy sectors to express their leadership and professional skills and to communicate with key representatives from the leading energy companies in the world. For next year’s forum, our students are aiming to represent the United Kingdom in this fascinating event.
The Energy Society is based at the ESCP London Campus and it is open to all students, alumni and academic staff at the School.
