Speaker: Salomé Germain Trigano, Founder of Arba Advisory and ESCP’s MSc in Energy Management alumna (Class of 2019)
The IEA reports that the energy industry is widely regarded as one of the least gender-diverse sectors of the economy. To accelerate a global clean-energy transition, it is essential to adopt innovative and inclusive solutions and embrace greater participation from a diverse pool of talent.
Salomé Germain Trigano, Founder of Arba Advisory – a Paris-based consultancy firm – tells us how crucial gender diversity and inclusion in the industry are, and how ESCP Business School’s MSc in Energy Management (MEM) equipped her with the right tools to start her entrepreneurial journey.
The discussion focused on:
- The latest on equity: why gender balance means business
- Overview of diversity and its dimensions
- Current trends on inclusion in the workplace and its impact
- Why should diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) be top priorities for companies: key figures, facts and advantages
- DEI legal framework in Europe
- Leading energy company business case: best practice on DEI
The webinar took place on Zoom at 6pm GMT on Wednesday, 16th November.
About Our Speaker
Salomé launched her consultancy firm dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace in 2021 to accompany private and public organisations on their paths towards equity, inclusion and cultural change. She specialises in gender diversity as well as intersectional equity (i.e. the impact of age, nationality, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation and working with a disability) in the workplace.
Previously in charge of deploying the Fifty-Fifty program at ENGIE (approx. 170,000 employees), an international programme for managerial gender parity with a systemic approach, she recently strengthened her expertise by partnering with EDGE Strategy and working closely with a portfolio of 40+ private and public institutions worldwide (e.g. OECD, ENGIE, Capgemini, AXA) in undertaking the preparation for DEI certifications. She gained deep insights on industry and country benchmarks when it comes to gender representation across levels of responsibilities, effectiveness of policies and practices, and unexplained gender pay gaps.
Prior to working in DEI, Salomé worked for companies in the energy and commodities sectors of various countries, from managing the opening of water treatment plants in North India to the pricing department at S&P Global Platts on the oil market in the UK.
As a highly resourceful person, she builds on her tenacity to get results and her expertise to create meaningful impact through her work. Reading people, supporting them to answer their specific needs and managing human relationships with tact and respect, is one of her values and strengths.
Salomé was born in France to a family with Vietnamese, Spanish, Italian and Algerian heritage. She has lived in Udaipur (North India), London (UK) and Tel Aviv (Israel). She holds a Master’s in Energy Management from ESCP Business School, a Master’s in Market and Corporate Finance and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Management from Paris-Dauphine University and Reichmann University. She will be joining the INSEAD Gender Equality program in 2023.
